This SD-AC General Assembly will present the strategic directions, activity calendar and administrative procedures of the Doctoral School of Automatic Control and Computers (SD-AC) within the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest for the year 2026.
The main topics addressed include:
Accreditation of doctoral fields (IS and CTI)
The process involves completing internal evaluation reports (REI), updating the official website (`sd-ac.upb.ro`), the profiles of the leaders and the subject sheets. The transmission of the reports to ARACIS is estimated for the end of February 2026, followed by the ARACIS response (March-April) and the accreditation visit in the field (May-June 2026).
Admission 2026
The new methodology approved by the Senate establishes the ranking of candidates based on the average of years of study (80%) and the grade from the committee evaluation (20%, calculated from the score on publications, conference participation and PhD research proposal). Registrations are carried out online (`admitere.pub.ro`) in several stages from January to September 2026, with the last interviews and screenings taking place in September, before the start of the internship on September 28, 2026.
Evaluation of the doctoral course and scholarships
The activities in the PPA, research reports and feedback from doctoral students are monitored. The evaluation of scholarships for those admitted in 2025 will take place in September 2026, including the reallocation of budgeted vacancies.
Public doctoral defenses
For the 2021 class and special situations, the procedure begins on August 24-25, 2026, with defenses in the guidance committees between August 26 and September 18, followed by the submission of the final theses for public consultation on October 2, 2026. Compliance with the CNATDCU criteria is mandatory.
Update of the SD-AC Regulation
The draft of the new regulation is subject to public consultation in the first half of February 2026, to be approved by the SD-AC and endorsed by the CSUD by the end of the month.
