Postdoctoral Research Program

General principles and organization of activities for the advanced postdoctoral research study programs within SD-AC.

01

General principles

SD-AC may organize advanced postdoctoral research study programs in the fields in which doctoral university studies are also organized. The programs are intended for specialists who obtained a doctoral degree in one of the fields specific to SD-AC, from another university, no more than 5 years earlier, and who wish to further develop their expertise in one of the fields within SD-AC at POLITEHNICA Bucharest. The organization and conduct of these advanced postdoctoral research study programs are carried out in accordance with their own regulations, approved by the university senate, in compliance with the legislation in force.

02

Organization of activities

a)

Advanced postdoctoral research study programs are organized following their accreditation.

b)

An advanced postdoctoral research study program comprises all activities related to design, organization, teaching and guidance, as well as the actual learning process, practical application, research and assessment, which together lead to the award of certificates or other recognized study documents.

c)

Advanced postdoctoral research study programs have the following characteristics: they provide the institutional framework for the development of research after the completion of doctoral university studies; they have a minimum duration of one year; they may be organized with public or private funding; they benefit from mentoring by doctoral supervisors within SD-AC.

d)

Advanced postdoctoral research study programs are carried out on the basis of a specific contract.

e)

Completion of an advanced postdoctoral research study program involves drafting, presenting and obtaining the acceptance (by a committee) of a research report.

f)

Upon completion of the advanced postdoctoral research study program, IOSUD-POLITEHNICA Bucharest awards the researcher a postdoctoral studies certificate in the chosen field.
