The General Assembly of the Doctoral School of Automatic Control and Computers (SD-AC) will take place on October 16, 2025. The following topics will be presented: the progress of doctoral studies, legislative changes, and new administrative regulations.

Admissions and Scholarship Statistics
The 2025–2026 admission process resulted in 92 admitted candidates (32 state-funded with scholarship, 37 state-funded without scholarship, and 23 fee-paying). The doctoral scholarship remains set at 3,700 RON. Starting with the 2025 cohort, a new methodology for the annual evaluation and redistribution of scholarships based on academic performance has been introduced. To retain their scholarship, doctoral students must meet mandatory criteria and achieve a minimum accumulated score (20 points in Year I, 40 points in Year II, 60 points in Year III). Points are awarded for publications, mobility periods, patents, project participation, or teaching activities.

Academic Requirements and Thesis Completion

  • 2025 Cohort (OMEC Order 3018/2025): To obtain the degree, candidates must publish at least three articles as first author in journals or conference proceedings indexed in Web of Science (WoS) or Scopus.

At least one article must be in a WoS-listed journal with an impact factor (this may be substituted by a patent or an article at a CORE A*/A/B ranked conference), plus one article published in conference proceedings.

  • Previous cohorts (2021 / OM 5110/2018): criteria apply requiring at least three WoS- or BDI-indexed articles (two of which must be in WoS journals with the candidate as first author; one may be substituted by a patent).

Schedules and administrative organization
Clear deadlines have been set for the submission of progress reports (November 15 for years I and II). The schedule for scholarship evaluations and thesis defenses for doctoral students admitted in 2021 is set for August–September 2026. Starting in October 2026, a doctoral supervisor may supervise a maximum of 8 active doctoral students (or up to 12 for 20% of supervisors). The next SD-AC meeting is scheduled for December 11, 2025, followed by the Research Gala on December 17, 2025.
