The SD-AC General Assembly will present a summary of activities for 2023 and outline strategic priorities. The agenda includes topics such as: the 2023 admission process, completion of doctoral studies, human resources and academic development, quality and evaluation, as well as miscellaneous items and future activities.

The 2023 admission process is taking place from April 3 to September 26, 2023, via a dedicated online platform. The process involves periodic application reviews, oral interviews (September 28–29) for the allocation of MEN scholarships, and the enrollment of successful candidates. Evaluation is based on the candidate’s profile (academic performance, topic impact, research experience, and employment/collaboration prospects). Competition committees have been established for the fields of Computers and Information Technology (CTI) and Systems Engineering (IS).

Completion of doctoral studies shows an upward trend: in 2022, 33 theses were defended (compared to 19 in 2021 and 15 in 2020), distributed between CTI (57.5%) and IS (42.5%), with 13 receiving an “Excellent” rating and 20 receiving “Very Good.” Twelve theses are currently in progress for 2023. Furthermore, the quality of publications (ISI Clarivate Q1/Q2 journals and international conferences) is being closely monitored. Human resources and academic development are being bolstered by new habilitations—Andrei Vasilățeanu, Radu-Ioan Ciobanu, and Anca Morar—alongside two dossiers currently in preparation (Florin Anton and Cătălin Negru).

Quality and evaluation: an ARACIS monitoring visit is scheduled for the summer of 2023 to verify criteria that were only partially met, thereby preparing for the 2025 re-evaluation. Additionally, an anonymous evaluation survey for doctoral students has been launched.

Miscellaneous and future activities: the schedule for the *Studio et opere excellens* award has been announced (with the ceremony taking place on May 26 during the DS Symposium/CSCS23); other updates include the completion of postdoctoral fellowships, the conclusion of the OPTIMA project, and the election of a new CTI member to the Doctoral School Council. Upcoming SD-AC meetings are scheduled for June–July, October, and December 2023.
