Self-Evaluation and Evaluation by the SD-AC Community
Evaluation of Doctoral University Study Fields (DSUD)
In Romania, the periodic external evaluation of doctoral schools and Doctoral University Study Fields (DSUD) is mandatory every 5 years and is carried out by ARACIS (Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education). These processes are coordinated at national level in accordance with legal regulations and specific methodologies.
Evaluation Framework
Self-Evaluation
The organizing institutions prepare an Internal Evaluation Report (REI) based on performance indicators.
External Evaluation
It is carried out periodically (at 5-year intervals) or for the purpose of accrediting doctoral university study fields and is based on self-evaluation reports.
Cross-Evaluation
Within the Romanian higher education system, cross-evaluation of doctoral fields within the same institution (IOSUD) is an essential component of the internal quality assurance process and is carried out before the periodic external evaluation. This mechanism requires experts or committees from a doctoral school within the same university to analyze the performance, procedures, and files of another doctoral field within the institution, ensuring objectivity and compliance with standards.
All periodic evaluations use the official set of ARACIS Guidelines and Standards for Doctoral Studies, structured around three fundamental pillars:
Evaluation Pillars
Evaluation Forms for Doctoral Students
Doctoral Student Satisfaction Evaluation Questionnaire regarding the Scientific Research Program (PCS)
This questionnaire is intended to assess doctoral students’ level of satisfaction with the Scientific Research Program (PCS). By completing it, doctoral students can provide feedback on the research infrastructure, access to resources, support provided by doctoral supervisors, and the program’s impact on their academic and professional development. The collected responses will contribute to improving the program and optimizing the doctoral research process.
Doctoral Student Satisfaction Evaluation Questionnaire regarding the Advanced Training Program (PPA)
This questionnaire is intended to assess doctoral students’ level of satisfaction with the Advanced Training Program (PPA). By completing it, doctoral students can provide feedback on course quality, the usefulness of the information provided, teaching methods, and available academic resources. The collected responses contribute to the continuous improvement of the program and to optimizing the doctoral training process.
